Last post

Here it is the last post, the details post.

OFFICIAL HALLOWEEN SHOW RULES RIGHT HERE!

Sol Collective has some rules that let them exist. Please follow them
because they are cool and we like them.

No hanging in the neighborhood
Can hang out on 21st, but no drinking on the street.
Only park on 21st or Broadway. Seriously stay out of the neighborhood!

General rules:
Bring your own. Be cool with it.
Clean up after yourselves, dudes.

It's $5 for all. The rental fee is $500, so I am teeny bit worried
that we won't make it, so feel free to throw in an extra dollar if you
can. All extra money will go to a charity of my choice (in this case
Sol Collective.)
Scholarships may be available for a few who show extraordinary need.

One member from each band should be there at 6:30 so we set up the
line-up. The rest of you should be there by 6:50 because the show will
start shortly after. Get there early because someone great is bound to
open because we have a quality line-up. Also, someone has to play
first. It may be you.

3 songs or 15 minutes.
Set up and breakdown quickly
There will be a backline (drums, amps, whatever else. Talk to Charles
about this)

Do we have a keyboard? If you have one and are willing to part with it for the evening please let charles know.

We have 13 bands I think, so I think it's going to be good sized show.

Weird Stuff:
We need a list of names for the private party status. There will a
facebook invitation, please RSVP. We are going to close the list at
100. You don't need to RSVP to go to the event, but we need a long
list of names so please respond with "yes" or "maybe' if you can. Once
again, your name doesn't have to be on the list to get into or play
the show. It's a thing, just do it. It won't hurt.

We still need a host, want the job?

Good Morning Vietnam,

Now that Spring Break is in the air, it must be time for the Nightmare Before Christmas known as the Halloween show. So dust off those Red Shoes and get ready for some Dirty Dancing. Lets get down to some Risky Business, this years theme is really Over the Top: Movie Soundtracks!

This year's theme is Breaking Away from tradition. You pick a movie and perform three songs from the soundtrack.  For example, were you to choose Caddyshack, you could play "I'm Alright," "Anyway You Want It," and "Boogie Wonderland." This theme will allow for a wide variety of genres, thus avoiding a Metalstorm ( the destruction of Jared-Syn).  You are encouraged to dress as characters from the movie; you are welcome to have extras—bring it to life, make a Splash.

Here's the rules:
-You can only be in two bands, maximum.
-Bands can only do three songs.
-You cannot be on stage more than 15 minutes. Don't go Overboard.
-No more than two people from an existing band can be in a band together.
- You have two weeks from this day to call your band.

FAQ

-How do I call my band?
Name your band in the comments of this blog. After two weeks comments will be closed. We will make a master list then and post it. Please don't call 6 bands and then make us decide for you.

-Can I bring my own equipment?
No, there will be enough equipment at the show. We need to keep things running smoothly, no matter how sweet your guitar is. We will have a backline, not to be confused with a Backdraft.

-When is it?
March 10th. You have less than Nine 1/2 Weeks actually closer to 8 1/2.

-Where is it?
No idea, we are totally Clueless—you tell us. All suggestions will be entertained. Ideally a place that will give us a lot of freedom. In most cases this rules out existing venues and businesses. Think the Hub, not just some Roadhouse.

-Can I do the soundtrack to a documentary?
No Al, you can't do Athens, Ga. Inside Out
Biopics, mockumentaries and general works of fiction are fine.

-Can I do a Fictional Band?

-What about something like Yellow Submarine or Spiceworld?
Totally fine. Here's The Thing, those are works of fiction, not about the bands themselves. Sorry Al, U2 3d is out, concert movies are out too.

How about TV shows?
No.

I know this seems like a lot of rules but we trying to avoid another Marathon, Man.  Let's get everyone home Before Sunrise.

This thread is now closed
no more bands can be called. its all done
